About IB Math AI HL Tutoring
Our IB Math AI HL (Applications and Interpretation Higher Level) tutoring programme fully covers the AI HL syllabus, which focuses on the real-world applications of mathematics. AI HL is a strong option designed for students targeting business, economics, social sciences, psychology, data science and the health sciences at university. The core topics of the AI HL syllabus include algebra and number systems, functions (exponential modelling, piecewise functions), geometry and trigonometry (applied), statistics and probability (regression, chi-square, hypothesis testing) and calculus (modelling applications). The HL-specific advanced topics are matrices (matrix algebra, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, transformations), graph theory (graphs, trees, algorithms), complex numbers (applied), differential equations (modelling) and statistical tests.
The AI HL exam consists of three written papers plus the IA. Paper 1 (30%, 2 hours) contains short and long-response questions solved with a GDC. Paper 2 (30%, 2 hours) consists of longer, problem-based questions solved with a GDC. Paper 3 (20%, 1 hour) focuses on two large modelling/investigation problems and emphasises real data-set analysis. The Internal Assessment (20%) is a mathematical exploration on a topic of the student's own interest.
The Internal Assessment (IA) makes up 20% of the AI HL grade and is usually built around a real data set or a real application problem. We work with you at every stage of the IA: choosing a research question, collecting and cleaning data, regression and statistical tests, GDC-based modelling and academic report writing.
Our programme for AI HL is built on two core goals: developing mathematical modelling competence and building exam-format-specific strategy. Topic-based past-paper practice, advanced GDC techniques, Paper 3 modelling-problem practice and individual weak-spot work are integrated into each student's programme.
All lessons are delivered fully one-to-one through our own online teaching platform.

About grade boundaries: According to the grade boundary documents the International Baccalaureate Organization publishes for each exam session, the total percentage needed for a 7 varies by subject, level and session in a band of roughly 55–85%. Your school's IB coordinator can access the relevant May/November Grade descriptors and boundaries document. The dataset has to demand HL mathematics
An AI HL exploration is built on real data, but a dataset that ends with a single regression does not reach HL level. Matrices, a differential equation or a more advanced statistical test has to genuinely enter the work. While choosing the data we mark in advance where the HL tool will be used.
Finding the data comes first
Most students lose weeks hunting for data they can use. We give the first sessions to it: which open sources to check, how many observations you need, and whether what you have will carry the test you have in mind.
Writing the assumptions behind the model
Building a model is not enough; you have to write which assumptions make it valid and what changes if those fail. Most of the evaluation mark in AI reports sits here. We have you write that paragraph as soon as the model is built.
Explaining calculator and software output
Pasting a screenshot into the report earns nothing on its own. You have to write what the output computed, which parameters it used and why you treat the result as reliable.
School approval and draft rounds
Topic approval and deadlines belong to your school, so we start the plan during IB 1. We read three times: at the choice of data, at the draft where the model settles, and on the full text. We do not write the report for you.

We work the GDC through screen sharing
Most of the time lost in this subject goes on hunting for the right screen. Rather than describing it, we go through it on your screen; which menu belongs to which question type goes into a single table, and we solve questions using it.
A model without its assumptions is half an answer
Building the model is half the question in AI HL. The other half is writing which assumptions make it valid and where it simplifies the real situation. We ask for those two sentences on every modelling question.
Paper 3 runs in a block of its own
This paper has two long problems whose parts depend on each other; a slip early on takes the later sections with it. Knowing the content is not enough, so we do not fold Paper 3 preparation into the syllabus work.
