About IB Global Politics SL Tutoring
Our IB Global Politics SL tutoring programme offers detailed teaching that analyses global politics and international relations. We examine power, human rights, development and peace through theoretical and current examples.
The course covers four core units. For each unit we address the core theories, concepts and current case studies.
The Engagement Activity involves the student preparing presentations by researching a chosen political issue. Our teachers provide guidance throughout this process.
Essay writing and analytical thinking are core focuses. Different answering techniques are taught for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Exam preparation focuses on connecting current world events with theoretical frameworks.

Lessons are, wherever possible, planned with teachers who have relevant subject experience and a strong command of the IB assessment criteria. For some subjects we can offer lessons with teachers who have IB Examiner experience; matching is done based on subject, level and teacher availability.

About grade boundaries: According to the grade boundary documents the International Baccalaureate Organization publishes for each exam session, the total percentage needed for a 7 varies by subject, level and session in a band of roughly 55–85%. Your school's IB coordinator can access the relevant May/November Grade descriptors and boundaries document. In our one-to-one lessons we review the student's realistic grade range together using past-session boundaries and mock results.

A narrative of your experience is not a report
Most students do something genuinely interesting and turn the report into the story of it. What earns marks is not the experience itself but how it speaks to the concepts covered in class. We plan that link before the engagement starts.
A topic that survives contact with reality
Plenty of engagement ideas look good on paper and fail in practice: institutions that never reply, people who do not respond, permissions that drag on. We choose candidates at a scale where you can genuinely make contact.
Narrowing the issue
Broad headings will not fit the report. We bring the issue down to a specific place and actor; only then can the theory be applied to something concrete.
Keeping a record
What you did, who you spoke to and what you observed is not remembered afterwards. We ask you to keep short notes while the engagement runs; the report is built on them.
The calendar and drafts
Deadlines belong to your school. We read separately at topic selection and on the full text. We do not write the report for you; IB academic honesty does not allow that.

Concepts attach to concrete events
