What is the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP)?

The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year international high-school programme for students aged 16-19. Students take one course from each of six subject groups (usually 3 HL and 3 SL) and additionally complete the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity-Activity-Service (CAS) components. The total score is calculated out of 45.

What is the difference between IB HL and SL?

Higher Level (HL) courses have broader, more in-depth content and require more hours and material than SL courses. In university applications, HL courses are usually decisive for the chosen field of study. Students typically take 3 HL and 3 SL courses.

How is the IB score calculated?

Each course is scored from 1 to 7 (6 courses × 7 = 42 points). Up to 3 bonus points come from the TOK and EE components. CAS has no direct effect on the score but is mandatory for the diploma. Out of the total of 45 points, 24 is the minimum threshold for the diploma.

What is Internal Assessment (IA)?

Internal Assessment is an independent work component in every IB course that is assessed by the school and subject to external moderation. In most courses it makes up 20-30% of the final grade. Each course has a different IA format (such as a lab report, essay, exploration or research project).

Are all of your teachers IB Examiners?

No. Our team includes teachers with IB Examiner experience, but we do not claim that all of our teachers are Examiners. The rest of our teachers are experienced in IB course teaching and IB assessment criteria.

Why is IB Examiner experience important for IA, EE and TOK support?

Teachers with IB Examiner experience know the official assessment processes for IA, EE and TOK work from the inside. They can directly convey which rubric criterion corresponds to which score, what the assessor looks for and the common mistakes. This rubric-interpretation advantage helps the student align their work with exam expectations. However, no teacher can guarantee a specific IB grade.

Matching takes into account the subject, level (HL/SL), the student's needs (concept teaching, exam preparation, IA / EE / TOK guidance), target score and the teacher's availability. These criteria are evaluated together during the free consultation and a suitable teacher profile is recommended for you.

How does IB tutoring start?

First, we collect the subject, level (HL/SL) and goal information via the contact form or WhatsApp. Then a free introductory call is held. In this call the student's current grasp of the topic and available times are evaluated, and a lesson schedule is created.

Yes, all of our lessons are held entirely online via our own custom-built tutoring platform. Screen sharing, a digital whiteboard, simulations and visualization tools are used. Lesson times suitable for different time zones across Turkey, Europe, the US and Asia are offered.

The standard lesson duration is 90 minutes. For students who prefer an intensive program, 120-minute sessions can also be arranged.

Yes. For the Internal Assessment we provide support with topic selection, research question, data collection, analysis and report writing. We provide the same planning, draft review and feedback for the Extended Essay and TOK Essay.

Payments are taken securely by credit card via the Stripe infrastructure. A bank transfer option is also available.

What is the IA Grading Tool?

The IA Grading Tool is a free tool that uses AI to analyze your IB Internal Assessment report against the IB assessment criteria. You upload a file in PDF or DOCX format and receive a criterion-based score estimate and feedback.

Do the AI results replace the real IB grade?

Accepted Answer

No. The AI analysis is only an estimated evaluation. The real IB grading is done by your school teacher and is subject to external moderation. The AI tool is designed to help you see the strengths and areas for improvement in your report.
